DAISY DANJUMA BIDS POLITICS GOODBYE

After losing out during the last general election in 2011, Senator Daisy Danjuma has decided to bid politics goodbye. The 61-year old contested the Edo South Senatorial seat on the platform of the People Democratic Party, PDP, but lost to Senator Ehigie Uzamere. Daisy, wife of General Theophilus Danjuma, former Minister of Defence was so confident she was going to win the seat she occupied between 2003 and 2007, that she believed her victory was a walkover. Few days to the election, Danjuma even travelled to Benin, Edo State to perfect his wife’s victory at the poll. And though, Daisy was dazed by the fact that she could be beaten, considering the enormous resources she injected into her aspiration, she is determined to put the experience behind her. She has since gone back to looking after her family, running her interior decoration business and running a foundation, that champions the cause against cancer. Her social lifestyle has also become more active and she enjoys socialising with Priscilia Soyemi, her best friend of over 40 years.
