Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, is arguably the most popular of the half a dozen Speakers of the House in the Fourth Republic. He has an flawless flow with people and he relates freely with them without any inhibition. Tambuwal has a deep sense of commitment and loyalty to his colleagues as well. He always strives to honour their invitation, no matter how tight his social schedules may be. For instance, last weekend, the Speaker was in Ibadan, Oyo State to attend a function. It was gathered that Tambuwal was in the ancient city at the behest of one of his colleagues, Honourable Adebukola Abiola Ajaja, whose daughter was getting married. Ajaja represents Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency and she is a member of the Accord Party.
It was gathered that the wedding ceremony, which was held at Kakanfo Inn, had almost drawn to a close, when the Speaker called the mother of the bride to alert her that he had landed in Ibadan. The couple, who had had already left the venue, was promptly summoned and asked to turn back. The newly weds promptly changed into their wedding outfits and made their way into the venue. When eventually, Tambuwal showed up at the wedding, he made straight to where the couple was dancing and dropped two bundles of $10,000 for them. He took his exit thereafter and he was seen off by an elated Honourable Ajaja.
