The NEWS MD, BAYO ONANUGA EYES THE SENATE

Bayo Onanuga, the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Independent Communication Network Limited (ICNL), publisher of The News magazine and PM News, has joined politics. He has decided to go to the Senate and represent his people in the Ogun East Senatorial District  in the coming election. The seat is
presently being occupied by Senator Gbenga Kaka, the former Deputy-Governor of Ogun State.
Already, Onanuga's friends have begun initial consultation on his behalf, and he has also been more visible in social circles especially in and around his home base in Ijebu Ode.
Known to be one of the most cerebral journalists in the media industry, Onanuga will be following in the footstep of Comrade Idowu Obasa, the former General Manager of ICNL, who recently completed two terms as the Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), where he left a remarkable record as one of the Best Performing Council Chairmen of his time. Next to Obasa is Babafemi Ojudu, who is presently a Senator at the Upper House, representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District. Already Ojudu has been proving the stuff he is made of with his active membership in the Senate and vociferous stands on issues that affect the lives of Nigerians.
