The declaration of popular politician, Jimi Agbaje to contest for the Lagos gubernatorial election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has further galvanized the state leadership of the All Progressives Congress to strategise and map out plans towards the forthcoming election.
This development, The ELITES gathered, was what prompted the party leadership to call up an emergency meeting in London last weekend. Sources disclosed that the meeting was called up at the prompting of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Lagos governor. The ELITES learnt that Asiwaju Tinubu had flown to Abuja on Thursday, July 17 for a meeting. It was from there that he reportedly left for London the following day.
In attendance at the London meeting were many prominent APC stakeholders and some of Asiwaju's associates ad trusted lieutenants. The Lagos governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, who was in London at the weekend for his son's graduation was also in attendance at the meeting. The core subject that was deliberated on at the meeting centered on presenting a formidable candidate for the party in the forthcoming election.
