We will always see, look, read, smell, feel, taste , take, copy something and then mess it up!
Nigerians, that is!
Trust me!
The ALS Ice Bucket challenge is now a celebrity fad in naija.
Trust me!
Naija celebs have hijacked a noble cause and spinned it into some funny kinda attention - seeking course.
Trust me!
Americans started a cause to raise awareness for a debilitating health condition. Not to raise awareness for themselves.
Trust me!
They challenged friends to a difficult task (in this case, pouring a bucket of ice blocks or ice water on themselves),
And then, make a donation to the charity organisation at the forefront of managing the ALS.
Whoever is challenged takes up the challenge and then challenges someone else.
That is the concept. The original plan o.
Some American celebrities even opted out of having ice water poured on them but still went ahead to make donations. ...well someone still sneaked in behind them to give them a surprise ice water bath...All part of the fun for a very worthy cause.
So, how much have our naija celebs raised for the ALS charity organisation?
What do they even know about the ALS?
Again, we have copied badly
Copied wrongly
Copied 'copyly'
Copied for show
Copied annoyingly.
Someone out there?
Help me tell out Naija celebs to stave off a pneumonia epidemic. ..The weather has been cold of late. ..
Stop pouring cold water from 'eleganza - manufactured - plastic bowls on your selves in front of a camera and then posting such on the www. If you are not going to make donations. It is what i call an abuse of a worthy course.
And, well, if you must have a show, i challenge my dear naija celebs to a proper and indeginous course...
