Last Thursday, July 31, the
CEO and Publisher of Encomium Magazine, Olakunle Sikiru Bakare clocked 50. Although,
he had planned to make the celebration devoid of any noise, members of his
staff and close associates decided to celebrate him, to appreciate the great
impact he had made on their lives. Thus, a modest open-house party was hosted
to mark the birthday celebration at Encomium Place, situated at Thomas Salako
Crescent, Ogba.
Fondly called
Mr. KB, by all, Bakare belongs to the class of the few good men within the
media industry. He has helped to build and nurture many journalists as well. The
highly venerated journalist and writer and his wife, Desola, are still smarting
from the euphoria of celebrating their daughter, Gbeke’s graduation from one of
the best universities in the United Kingdom. He is currently preparing to host
this year’s edition of Encomium Black and White Ball, which is billed to hold
next weekend.
