SUN NEWSPAPER VICE-CHAIRMAN, DIMGBA IGWE DIES

It is shocking to report thst Vice-Chairman of Sun Newspapers, Dimgba Igwe died today Saturday morning after being knocked down by a vehicle while jogging around his residence in Lagos.


The Chairman of the Sun Publishing Limited Dr Orji Uzor Kalu described the incident as the darkest day in the history of the organization.

Aged 58, Dimgba Igwe was a co-founder of The Sun and served as Deputy Managing Director/Deputy Editor-in-Chief to his bosom friend, Mike Awoyinfa, who fondly called him his twin even though they hailed from different ethnic groups.
Upon their retirement from The Sun, Igwe and Awoyinfa founded Entertainment Express in collaboration with some other media colleagues and continued to write their weekly columns in the popular Nigerian tabloid in addition to pursuing their other passion – interviewing and writing on successful business and political leaders.
