OBANIKORO'S RESIGNATION: SEE WHERE "TAKE A BOW AND GO" HAS LANDED US? BY SONI AKOJI

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro

Okay, I don't give a damn about Musiliu Obanikoro resigning as the Junior Minister of Defence, to go and pursue his lifelong ambition to govern Lagos state.
However I do give a damn about who appointed Obanikoro as Minister in the first instance. I'll tell you why.
Was he not aware that Obanikoro nurses a guber ambition to rule Lagos state, which means that he is not going to be 100% committed to doing the job for which he was hired for?
If Nigeria was his private company, and a hiring manager hires a manager for one of his subsidiaries, knowing fully well that the new employee is available for only three months, after which he will resign to pursue his career elsewhere, will he accept such mediocre performance knowing the amount of resources that went down the drain to hire the unstable manager is more than enough to make visible impact in the lives of the people?
In case you don't get it, Musiliu Obanikoro was appointed as a Minister and less than 4 months on the beat, without achieving ANYTHING he abandoned the job for a wild goose chase in pursuit of his dreams to become the next Governor of Lagos State.
What this means is that the Ministry of Defense has been effectively on autopilot because the substantive Minister, General Aliyu Gusau has been on holiday since the day he was asked to take a "Bow and GO" during his screening as a Minister at the senate. Incidentally Musiliu Obanikoro also benefitted from the take a "Bow and
Go," shenanigan as a former Senator. None of them was properly grilled to establish their suitability for the job.
It is said that two heads are better than one. In the light of what has become of the Nation's Defense ministry, I want to ask a question: "Are two GOAT HEADS better than one Lion head? There you have it.
We have been short changed! This is unacceptable and deserves sanctions. We must resolve and do everything possible to stop this culture of waste and impunity! All the files that require the urgent attention of the runaway Minister are now gathering dust on his table. No thanks to a Manager who hired an employee who has his eyes in another company!
Musiliu Obanikoro ought not to have been appointed as a Minister right from the word GO, because he was not prepared to work!
Unfortunately a bloody nose awaits him in Lagos. In the fullness of time, he shall receive a well deserved shellacking at the poll. I trust Lagos people!
