Boko Haram: No Political
Campaigns In Borno – Analysts
There would not be any
politicking in Borno State as the 2015 general elections approaches, Dr. A. A.
Malik, a political scientist and analyst stated.
The political guru, during a
political survey deliberation held in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno
State, said as far as the 2015 polls is concern, every indication shows that no
politicking or campaign should take place in the state.
“As people have been
displaced from their towns, more LGAs have been seized by Boko Haram
insurgents, no political function should be held where there is no certainty.
“Without peace nothing
political is perfectly done everywhere in the world; and in view of what is
currently happening in Maiduguri, there should never be a room for political
activities to take place in the state,” said the political scientist.”
Dr. Malik while fielding
questions from 247ureports.com added that: “I think, about 50% of Borno State
land mass have been seized by the terrorists. So, those captured places are
no-go areas now, and the dwellers of the villages have been moved away from
there.
“Therefore, everything
political: campaign, meeting or any function has been restricted to the
Maiduguri metropolis, which itself isn’t that peaceful and conducive for any
political campaign or politicking”
