Veteran journalist and celebrated columnist, Bunmi Sofola is bereaved. She lost her former husband, Bode Fadase to death a few days ago. The late Fadase, popularly known as Barry, was a great socialite during his lifetime.
Fadase retired some years ago after a long period of service in the oil and gas industry at Mobil Oil. He celebrated his 70th birthday a few years back in his Surulere, Lagos residence. He was a great enthusiast of boxing and was a member of the Lagos State Boxing Board of Control in the 80s along with some other boxing experts.
The late Fadase was married for many years to Bunmi Sofola, the agony aunt of the “Ask Bunmi” fame. Long before hosting a radio programme became a byword for vainglorious display, Bunmi Sofola’s Woman to Woman was a weekly highlight for most listeners. Before she launched into radio programme, Sofola had shot into limelight as a high-flying journalist whose brilliance and youth shone as beacon for several other aspiring female journalists. The ageless beauty, who is in her early 60's, enjoys socializing in the company of her best friend, Iyabo Martins-Kuye, the wife Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye, the prominent politician and former minister.
