FAYOSE TO OBASANJO: YOU ARE ONE OF NIGERIA'S MAJOR PROBLEMS

Gov. Ayo Fayose

...Fayose stated this on Friday while commenting on Thursday’s visit of five PDP governors to the former Nigerian president

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as one of the major problems facing Nigeria.
The governor also asked for the suspension of the former leader from the Peoples Democratic Party for alleged anti-party activities.
Fayose stated this on Friday while commenting on Thursday’s visit of five PDP governors to the former Nigerian president.
He described the visit as “unwarranted, unnecessary and uncalled for”.
Fayose, who spoke through the Special Assistant, Public
Obasanjo
Communication and New Media and the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Lere Olayinka and Idowu Adelusi, also criticised Obasanjo for openly castigating President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
Fayose said: “Visiting Obasanjo to rescind his decision not to participate in the party’s activities is capable of encouraging other members of the party to openly disrespect the office of President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria as being done by Obasanjo.
“A man who refused to respect the office of the President of Nigeria that he once occupied does not also deserve respect from anyone.
“Obasanjo is behaving unpresidentially and he must be told to respect himself.”
Accusing the former president of anti-party activities, Fayose alleged that Obasanjo was already a member of the All Progressives Congress and pushing for one of his loyalists to be the party’s vice presidential candidate.
“Obasanjo is a man who can never be pleased, his principle of life is: if it is not his way, it must not be another person’s way,” Fayose said.
Fayose, who called on the party to probe Obasanjo’s conduct, urged the party to stop condoning indiscipline, saying: “Nobody should be treated as being bigger than the party.”
The governor, who lauded President Jonathan’s administration, recalled that when the former President was in power he could not fix the dilapidated Lagos/Ibadan, Lagos/Abeokuta roads, adding that Jonathan started the roads.
He said: “What we should do is to support Jonathan.”
Responding to a question, the governor’s aides said Fayose had no axe to grind with the Obasanjo but to defend the office of the president of Nigeria.
