REPS ASPIRANT DUMPS PDP AFTER WINNING PARTY'S PRIMARY, JOINS APC FOR OSINBAJO

Ayisha Oshori

A People Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representative aspirant, in the just concluded AMAC/Bwari federal constituency, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ayisha Osori, has berated the party for conducted ‘fraudulent primaries’ across the country, even has she denounced her membership of the party.
Ayisha, who was presented membership card of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, at the party National Secretariat told newsmen in an interview that said PDP does not believe that the country need good people to rescue it from the current incompetence in governance.
She said: “after running for primaries under PDP in a primaries that was not fair and after watching his APC conducted its presidential primaries, very fair and competitive, and after seeing the combination of Osibanjo and Buhari, men of integrity. Osibanjo use to teach me at the University of Lagos, faculty of law, I believe that is a great combination that would move the country forward and I want to be part of that team.”
According to her, the performance of the “APC Governors are very encouraging and they also engage in discussion with people, don’t forget that 70 percent of the Nigerian population are young people. There is no dying the fact that as we develop our democracy, we definitely need to see changes in the centre, if not else, it would deepen our democracy. We all don’t want a situation where one party can hijack the government at the centre. So change alone is enough reason to support APC.”
When asked on what would be her contribution to the success of APC at the general elections, Ayisha, who is also the Chief Executive Officer, the Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund, said her years of experience in the private sector as a lawyer and also as writer, first with Thisday and later with Leadership newspapers will be of value to APC.
Reacting to the defection, National Secretary of APC, Mai Mala Buni, who presented the membership card to the new member, said he felt happy because his party is waxing stronger each day, adding that such event would be a continuous thing.
“Our doors are open. Everybody who is ready to join the party is welcome anytime, any day because we are doing things differently compare to other parties and Nigerians are now more convinced that APC is a democratic party more than any other party in Nigeria today.”
