EXCLUSIVE PICTURES FROM THE BURIAL OF CHIEF (MRS.) OLIVET ABOSEDE OKOYA-THOMAS IN LAGOS




The remains of Chief (Mrs.) Olivet Abosede Okoya-Thomas, wife of late business mogul and industrialist, Chief Molade Alexander Okoya-Thomas, were finally laid to rest on Friday, April 8, 2016.
The internment took place at the Ikoyi Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi. This was then followed by a grand reception at The Habour Point Event Centre, Victoria Island. 
Mama Okoya-Thomas died on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. She was in her late 70's, and was the younger sister of Chief (Mrs) Leila Euphemia Apinke Fowler.
Mrs. Okoya-Thomas died after a protracted illness at her Victoria Island home. Her last outing was at the first year remembrance of her late husband last February.
Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas, a foremost industrialist and the Asoju Oba of Lagos, died in February 2015.
The ELITES gathered that Okoya-Thomas and Abosede Olivet (née Moore), met during their secondary school days at Baptist Academy and Holy Child, respectively. Back then, Abosede frequently visited her sister, Pamela, who was married to late Justice Akinbo Savage, at Olowogbowo area of Lagos Island.
It was during this period that the spark of chemistry was ignited between the duo. One thing led to another, their friendship blossomed into a love affair, and they later got married on Tuesday, January 27, 1962.
She is survived by three children - Tosin Alobo- Bakare, Yinka Taiwo and Deji Okoya-Thomas, and many grandchildren.
