According to i-reporter, Egbegbe had visited Computer Village with some guys in a jeep around 10:30am, pretending that he wanted to buy 7 iPhone 6s and 2 iPhone 7 mobile phones.
It was gathered that Egbegbe, went into a phone store ‘Kaalcech Innovations and Consultancy’ located on 9 Medical Road, Ikeja, and requested for nine pieces of iPhones. He was reported to have given the impression that he was going to make a quick cash payment after the phones were delivered to him. Suddenly, Egbegbe, was said to have had a quick dialogue with his legs and jumped into the waiting jeep, in which he came in.
The sales girl, who attended to him, was said to have screamed for help. The noise yielded result, as a crowd soon gathered and engaged the vehicle in a hot chase. The crowd eventually caught up with Egbegbe before he could escape.
The angry mob reportedly pounced on him and gave him the beating of his life. The MD of the phone store, Kolawole Aleshinloye, later informed the police, who promptly came and whisked Egbegbe away to Area F Police station, where he is currently being detained.
