K1 De Ultimate Issues Official Statement On Fuji Music, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Others

 Music legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, K1 De Ultimate has shed more light on the contentious issue, hovering around the origin of Fuji music. Below is the statement he issued to clarify his position:

The truth is that I am not dragging any issue with anyone. What I do not agree with is the notion that “FUJI MUSIC” derived its name from one Fuji island or mountain. FUJI got its name from the sayings of our forefathers “Kini Fuji e or Olowo lo n se Fuja” and so on.

My late mentor, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister did well with all the contributions he made towards the development, not only of Fuji, but of music in general. He was a blessing and he devoted his entire life to the development of Fuji music, both at home and abroad. Truly, he is a force to be reckoned with and I acknowledge all his labour and efforts. Alhaji Agba was the man God Almighty used to turn things around for the good blessings that we derive from Fuji today. But this does mean we must keep mute when no clear-cut identification is proclaimed on something I know and partake in.

FUJI stems from Ajiwere and Ajisari, which dates back to many years ago, long before many of us, including my mentor SAB, dabbled into it. Many names have passed through this genre, some dead while some are still very much alive. If the same story was corroborated or asserted by many including my mentor by singing “Were loo dii Fuji”, we have many reasons to always feel joy as our foundation dates back to ages behind us.
Please, i implore us to endeavor to do extensive research, It is not enough to just believe the word of one person or people on either side. Research will help unravel many things we may have left undiscussed and unattended to for many years.
