One of the latest entrants into the septuagenerian club is Chief (Mrs) Gwen Nwachukwu, a grand dame of the Nigerian social establishment. She is the wife of General Ike Omar Sanda Nwachukwu, one of Nigeria's most dignified Army generals and politicians. Among other positions, Nwachukwu has served as Foreign Minister of Nigeria twice and as a Senator in the National Assembly delegation from Abia State
Gwen Nwachukwu's 70th birthday celebration took place last September and it was marked with a Thanksgiving service at Our Saviours a church, TBS, Onikan Lagos. A grand reception was later hosted at Habour Point, Victoria Island.
