After taking a respite from
the social scene, Doris Fisher has wormed her way back into the Nigerian social
establishment. Doris is one of the richest and most successful businesswomen in
the society. She is from the prominent Amachree family of Kalabari, Rivers State. A
medical doctor by training, Doris served as the Commissioner for Water
Resources during Dr. Peter Odili’s tenure. And she is regarded as one of the most
influential women in that state. Doris was once married to Yinka Fisher, the
famous Lagos businessman, but the union crashed some years ago. However, she
still maintains a chummy relationship with Yinka, who is now married to Anne,
the daughter of Dr. Pius Okigbo, the late eminent economist. Presently, Doris
occupies her time with tending to her children and running her private business
enterprise. Although, Doris gets a deluge of marriage proposal from her male
admirers, she is not enthusiastic about going into marriage the second time.
This is because she is very much romantically involved with a former military
ruler. The former military top brass has been ruling her heart for many years,
and they are very fond of each other.
