Funmilola was once married to Tola Animashaun, the former Permanent Secretary in the Lagos Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning. Animashaun, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, contested for the 2011 Lagos Central Senatorial election, but he lost to Oluremi Tinubu. Interestingly too, Funmilola’s marriage to Animashaun is viewed by many people as one of the most eventful unions within the society. This is because the couple has a reputation for breaking up and making up on a regular basis. In any case, Funmilola enjoys the love and adulation of her family members and her close circuit of friends, which include Lara Ajanaku and Ikepo Braithwaite.
