Come next month, May 10, the 80th birthday ceremony of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland will be taking place in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The event promises to register the heavy attendance of many eminent Nigerians. Already, an organizing committee, which comprises of some prominent Ijebu indigenes, has been set up. The planning committee is making appreciable efforts in hosting a world-class event with a strong bearing of royalty and pomp. The ELITES gathered that Oba Adetona’s 80th birthday celebration is being planned to span a week. One of the major highlights of the celebration is a football match between Arsenal fans and others. It is imperative to add that Oba Adetona is an ardent fan of Arsenal Football team.
Oba Adetona was born to the
Anikinaiya 1 Ogbagba Royal Family of Ijebu Ode in Nigeria on May 10, 1934,
his father was Prince Rufai Adetona, whilst his mother was Alhaja Ajibabi
Adetona (née Onashile). His mother hailed from Ijebu Igbo.
