IBB, ABDULSALAM, ATIKU, RAWLINGS, TINUBU, OSHIOMOLE AND OTHERS HONOUR TOM IKIMI AT 70

The former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi clocked 70 on April 10. Last weekend, a grand reception was held in his palatial home in Igueben, Edo State. The event was graced by many prominent dignitaries in Nigeria and other nations of the world.
Ikimi was born on April 10, 1944 in Kumba, Southern Camerouns, which was part of Nigeria until the territory broke away from Nigeria through a plebiscite in 1961. One of the country’s doyens of architecture, the Edo-born politician is also a major player on the political scene having being chairman of the defunct National Republican Convention.
On the return of democracy in 1999, the debonair politician moved from the All Peoples Party (APP) to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and he is now a stalwart of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Ikimi holds the revered titles of Inneh of Igueben, the Akirogun of Ife among other titles.
Known to conduct his affairs with a heavy dose of panache, Chief Ikimi’s birthday celebration was outstanding both in the caliber of guests that attended the event and the exquisite trappings of the shindig.
