Insinuations that the former Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has interest in the Kaduna Government House race, have finally been put to rest as close associates disclosed that, he will contest the state governorship election in 2015.
El-Rufai’s associate and veteran of Kaduna State politics, Alhaji Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, disclosed this during a briefing with newsmen.
Hunkuyi, who denied that he was nursing governorship ambition, said, “We are working and prompting Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai to contest for the office of Kaduna State Governor. It is not his decision, but that of the good and concerned people of Kaduna State. We want to take back the state to where it belongs, because we are presently in a rot garbage and a smelling dustbin and our people have suffocated enough.”
Hunkuyi also vowed that whosoever will emerge candidate on the platform of APC, will defeat Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero with landslide victory saying, “Defeating those running government of Kaduna state now is as easy as ABC. The state is decaying, what remained is just picking the state from the mess. Majority of the people are not happy with this inept government and they will push them out.
“Nothing is left of the PDP in Kaduna State but packages of lies; some people are just discovering and waiting for the time. People there knew the truth; there will be no space for any manipulation or upturning people’s destiny. We are up and doing and up to the task”, he said.
