LAGOS GOES AGLOW AS ASIWAJU TINUBU HOSTS 1ST YEAR REMEMBRANCE FOR MOTHER

Lagos will literally stand still, today, as the National Leader of the All Progressives Party, APC and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu hosts the first year remembrance of his mother Alhaja Abibatu Asabi Mogaji. The event will take place at the Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, Onikan, Lagos.
Alhaja Mogaji, the former President-General of the Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men, died on June 15, at the age of 96. She was buried at the Vaults and Garden, Ikoyi.
Iya Oloja as she was fondly called, was during her lifetime honoured with various titles, among which are Yeye Oba of Lagos, Iya Adinni of Yaya Abatan Central Mosque, Ogba-Agege, Yeye Oba of Ikirun Land, Yeye Oba of Kweme Kingdom, Badagry, Yeye
Oba of Osolu Kingdom, among others. She was a frontline in the

commercial development of Lagos State, particularly Lagos Island, which was formerly dominated by the Lebanese and Greek merchants.
The event is expected to record a mammoth turn-out of guests. The dressing dictate for the event is orange.
