| A painful goodbye: The late moviemaker’s husband Charles Igwe and children tried to hold back tears at the burial ceremony |
It was a sad day for the Igwe family as they laid to rest the popular Nigerian film-maker and Nollywood icon Amaka Igwe on Friday, June 13, 2014 in Ndiuche Arondizuogu, Imo State. Top shots from Nollywood as well as fans and friends of the late movie maker came from far and near to say a final goodbye. Notable guests present were Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and some of his cabinet members. Actors Bob Manuel Udokwu, Julius Agwu, Ebele Okaro, Nkem Owoh and Bobby Michael were also present. Before the burial, the late film-maker had been honoured with a tribute evening held at the Haven Gardens, G.R.A, Ikeja, Lagos on Monday, June 9, 2014. This was followed by a service of songs at Okpara Square in Enugu.
