FORMER DEFENCE MINISTER, DEMOLA SERIKI DECLARES FOR THE SENATE

Demola Seriki

To Succeed Senator Ganiyu Solomon

Former Minister of State for Defence, Chief Demola Seriki has registered his intention to go to the Senate in the forthcoming 2015 general election. He will be representing his people in Lagos West Senatorial District, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, where he is a chieftain.

The seat is currently occupied by Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, who is a front runner in the race for the next governor of Lagos State.
The ELITES gathered that Seriki's bid has received the endorsement and support of many prominent APC leaders in the state.

Seriki, who holds the Otun Aare of Lagos title, is a rallying point of many brilliant ideas. He is one politician, who surrounds himself with some of the brightest minds, and they see him as a prototype of excellence. He is versed in the art of grassroots politicking and he never shies away from saying it as it is, not minding whose ox is gored. Over the years, Seriki has earned the respect of many people, for his proclivity for playing sophisticated politics.

Seriki has had the rare privilege of being appointed a minister in four different ministries. He had his first legislative sojourn in 1998 when he was elected a member of the Federal House of Representatives on the ticket of the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP).  He has since played prominent roles in national politics as well as in Lagos State.
