POPULAR DANCER, KEMI OMOTOYINBO DIES DURING CHILDBIRTH...3 WEEKS AFTER WEDDING

Kemi Omotoyinbo, a dancer, who danced for several popular musicians including Pasuma, KWAM 1 and Shina Peters, has died during childbirth. The pretty lady, who doubled as a choreographer and actress, died in a private hospital in Lagos on 1 October. Her death occurred, exactly twenty days after she got married to Godwin Eloanyi, at a ceremony, which took place on on 13 September, at the White House Event Hall, Toyin Street, Ikeja.

According to reports, Kemi had been in and out of labour for several days at a private hospital. When she couldn't give birth the natural way, the doctors suggested she would have to do a C&S. The doctors informed her the operation would cost four hundred

and fifty thousand Naira, and demanded an initial deposit of three hundred thousand Naira.

The husband, Eloanyi was said to have admitted that he could not come up with the money. However, he pleaded with the hospital to go ahead with the operation, promising he would pay the next day (October 1st). Yet, the hospital insisted on the deposit and refused

to carry out the operation. Sadly, Kemi passed away last night.

According to a close source, "The hospital killed her with their negligence and wickedness. Kemi would have lived if they had done the operation on time but money was more important to them than a young woman's life.

"Kemi's husband said he would pay the money the next day but the doctor refused and stated categorically that he would not move an inch else he pays 300,000. It was at that point Kemi decided to forward messages to people she knew so she could get help. She got responses that money would be made available to her the next day. Even when the doctors learnt Kemi's husband had gone to solicit for money, they still refused to carry out the operation."
