-How The Couple Dazzled At Mo Abudu's Party
At last, famous property
merchant, Alaba Shonibare has stepped out with his new wife, Modele. The
couple, who got married, quietly, a few months ago, stunned not a few numbers
of people when they arrived together at Mo Abudu’s 50th birthday celebration. The
very grand party featured a heavy A-list of notable personalities, drawn from
all the facets of the society. It was held on Saturday, September 13, at the
Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island.
It is pertinent to add that,
Alaba had been single, after his wife, Nike died after a protracted battle with
breast cancer in August 2011. Nike was the Managing Director of Self Center,
the highbrow all-purpose beauty clinic in Shonibare Estate, Maryland, Lagos. It
will be recalled that Alaba had married Nike in 2000, after his first marriage
to popular society lady, Kemi Okunowo (the younger sister of Chiefs Funlola and Bukola Okunowo)
crashed.
Modele is Alaba’s third wife,
and he has reportedly purposed it in his heart to make her his last bus stop,
marital wise.
Ironically, when the news of
their quiet wedding between Shonibare and Modele broke out, some people within
the society had doubted the veracity of the news. However, the couple chose Mo
Abudu’s 50th birthday party to make their first major outing together as a
married couple. Looking very stunning and demure in a black dress, Modele hung
on the arm of her husband, who held her in a most affectionate manner.
