One of Nigeria's most formidable female politicians and a former member of the Senate, Senator Folasade Grace Bent has begun to savour the sweet aroma of widespread acceptability in Adamawa South senatorial district as she affirmed her bid to return to the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The ELITES gathered that the one time Senate Committee Chairman on Environment and Ecology, formally declared interest in the 2015 Senatorial race last week .
A crowd had thronged the Galaxy Hotel, Numan, Adamawa venue of her formal declaration, while supporters endlessly sang her praises with vows to support her decision to return to the Upper Chamber in 2015.
The crowd had initially besieged the Yola Airport to welcome Bent to Adamawa State. Later, they filed behind her in a long convoy to the PDP Secretariat in Yola where she collected her nomination form indicating her interest to contest in the 2015 Senatorial race in the state.
Bent who was in the Senate between 2007 and 2011, again savoured the great outpouring of affection by her supporters for her bid to return to the Senate when she had to meander through a a thick crowd to formally inaugurate her Campaign Office shortly after picking the PDP nomination form.
Senator Bent in her address reminded the constituents about what she described as an existing bond of friendship between them, while she thanked them for always showing support for her cause at critical moments.
Bent assured her supporters of showing more of dedication to their interests if voted to return to the Senate in 2015, and she vowed to bring more dividends of democracy to the people of Adamawa South-Senatorial district.
Bent, it was learnt, commands strong support from the core of Adamawa politicians, most especially in the government circles with assurances of backing her.
According to reports, Bent has continued to soar in popularity in Adamawa State, given her delivery of road projects, health care, women and youths empowerment, as well as her display of generosity to the people in her constituency during her tenure as a Senator.
