TEAR-GASSING OF TAMBUWAL - WE ARE AT THE END OF OUR TETHER SAYS OJUDU

Senator Ojudu

The imbroglio that played out at the National Assembly on Thursday where lawmakers had to scale over a gate to escape the menacing guns and tear-gas of unscrupulous security agencies has been described as an indication that the PDP-led Federal Government would not hesitate to push the whole country to war to achieve its diabolical second term ambition for the lacklustre Jonathan presidency.
According to Senator Babafemi Ojudu, a member of the Senate Committee on Defence and Army, the impunity-driven Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) and the Jonathan presidency continues to sink lower everyday, dragging the whole country with it in the process.
As it is presently, Ojudu said, the country is already in ruins and on the precipice and urgently needs salvaging, which he said would take an army of patriotic Nigerians who are not blinded by political and ethnic desperation to accomplish.
In a statement by his media aide, Dimeji Daniels, Ojudu said he was past anger at what the PDP had turned the country into and instead is ashamed at how many Nigerians continue to stand aloof while the country seems to have lost respect in all ramifications.
"What is there again that we have not witnessed under the PDP rule? Is it corruption? Is it impunity? Is it the desecration of the innocence of our children and the dehumanisation of our youth? Is it war? Is there anything too debased for the PDP to do? There seems at present to be nothing the party has not done to Nigeria. This is why every patriotic Nigerian, irrespective of political divides, must, with every sinew in their body, coalesce at this injury time to salvage this nation and build a new country full of hope and direction from the present ruins," Ojudu said.
While condemning the manner in which the Speaker of the House of Representatives and other APC lawmakers were tear-gassed by the Nigeria Police at the National Assembly Complex on Thursday, Ojudu said it was obvious that the Police is now the guerilla arm of the PDP tasked with suppressing the progress of Nigeria.
He said the Inspector-General of Police and his goons should be mindful of the fact that Nigerians may turn against them should they not desist in their new attack-dog assignment.
"Nigerians are at the end of their tether,"he said.
