-His Thank-You Visit To Asiwaju Tinubu and Party Leadership
Professor Yemi Osibajo, the legal expert and Redeem pastor chosen this morning to run for the Presidency with General Mohammadu Buhari met with him for the first time at about 1.00 am. Osibajo, without announcing to anyone slipped into Abuja last night to prepare for a case at the Supreme Court today. When at 12 midnight it was finally decided he will be running, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the governor of the State of Osun decided to put a call to him to get ready to leave Lagos that night on a chartered flight to Abuja. When the call got through to him, Osibajo, to the surprise and joy of everyone said he was already in his hotel room in Abuja. A delegation went down to the hotel and took him to General Buhari, and he appended his signature to the nomination form. At 4.00 pm today, General Buhari unveiled Osibajo at the party secretariat in Abuja.
Later in the afternoon Osibajo visited Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to express his appreciation to him and through him to the leadership of the party. After that he settled down to draft his acceptance speech.
