FAYOSE HAS BECOME A NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT - KWANKWASO

Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso

Kano State governor, Dr Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, yesterday took the Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose to the cleaners over his use of vile language and verbal assaults on individuals and the Northern region, saying he has become a national embarrassment and should be taken to the psychiatric hospital.
Kwankwaso was reacting to Fayose’s statement that the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and himself, were secretly working against the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Kwankwaso who stormed Lagos to counter the effects of alleged ‘dollar rain’ in Lagos State, South West zone and to reunite the Arewa Community in the zone now divided over the sharing formula of Mr President’s largess also visited the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu with Hausa leaders to reaffirm their loyalty to the party despite the financial inducements.
The governor who lamented the insults and virulent language being used to deride General Muhammadu Buhari and the Northern region in general by President Goodluck Jonathan and his campaign group said, “The North will reply them on March 28 in the presidential polls.”

“When I had an opportunity to serve my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), I was sent to Ogun State to serve as a member of NYSC and has always had this belief that this part of the country parades an array of people who are well cultured, respectful people ranging from Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Ernest Shonekan, Chief Obasanjo, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, MKO Abiola among numerous others
While fielding questions from journalists during a visit to the APC National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, in his Ikoyi residence, Kwakwanso said Fayose should be mindful of the fact that the day of reckoning would soon come.

Kwankwaso, who led members of the Arewa community in Lagos on the visit to reassure Tinubu of the support of the Arewa people resident in Lagos for the APC, said the Ekiti State governor had been insulting northerners on behalf of his principal, noting that although they (northerners) had decided to keep quiet, the North and the entire country would speak on March 28.
“Anytime I listen to Fayose, I feel embarrassed that he is a governor. This young man, I used to know him.
“Though when I was governor he was not governor; these days when I look at him, I think something is wrong with his mouth.
“When you see him, tell him to learn how to respect elders. Buhari is healthier than Jonathan. He has been abusing the northern people.
“The day of reckoning will come. He speaks the mind of his principal to abuse us. We have no apology for being northerners. On March 28, the North and the rest of Nigerians will speak, “ he said.
Kwankwaso appealed to governors in the country to be mindful of what their statement, noting that when they made unguarded utterances, they would be reducing the office of the governor.
