World Renowned Physician, Professor Abolade Awotedu, Dies In S/Africa

One of the world's most celebrated pulmonologist, Professor Abolade Ajanni Awotedu is dead.
A family source disclosed to The ELITES, that he died on Wednesday, 26 July, 2017, in Johannesburg, South Africa,
Professor Awotedu was in the Walter Sisulu University’s Department of Internal Medicine. His colleagues and students described him as an indefatigable teacher, father and luminary of the medical profession who was celebrated as an erudite pulmonologist in over six countries where he practiced and taught Internal Medicine including the United States, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
“Professor Ajani Awotedu in his lifetime was indeed a father, mentor and inspiration to many, me included. We love and will forever miss him. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace”, said Bodunrin John Odus, an opinion leader in the Nigerian society in South Africa.

Professor Awotedu was a leading light amongst the Nigerians who lives in South Africa.
He held position of leadership among his Yoruba tribe and contributed toward the development of the Yoruba nation in South Africa.
He was the patron of Association of Yoruba in Diaspora South Africa (AYIDSA) and National Association of Yoruba Descendants South Africa (NAYDSA).
He was described as one Africa’s best professors who contributed to the advancement of medical science, primarily in South Africa and globally.
