THE LOVE STORY OF LAGOS BANKER, AKIN GEORGE TAYLOR AND OANDO'S TOKUNBO DUROSARO





Talk about one celebrity couple who has been savouring all-round marital bliss, and the name duo of Akin George-Taylor and Tokunbo Durosaro will readily come to mind. The two have been together for over ten years and their love keeps waxing stronger by the day. 
Over the years, the couple had been blessed with a child, they have moved from their former home in Victoria Island to a more palatial home in Banana Island and their respective careers have been experiencing boom at every level. 
George-Taylor is dynamic, astute and results-oriented leader with over 18 years of experience in the banking industry and proven success in managing multi-billion naira operations.
George-Taylor was an Executive Director at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) where he headed the Public Sector Group, Abuja & North Central division, in this role he significantly grew the bank’s Balance Sheet, increased profit and doubled the bank’s share of Federal Government business. Prior to this, George-Taylor served as the Managing Director of GTBank, Sierra Leone where he completely turned around the bank’s performance by increasing profits by 800% in 4 years and under his leadership GTBank Sierra Leone won several awards.
An adept negotiator who applies his in-depth knowledge of the banking industry to generate rapid revenue and profit growth opportunities; he is also skilled at cultivating, winning and maintaining excellent relationships with customers and key accounts. He was also instrumental in the Lagos State introduction of IST and Electronic Payments Initiative, introduced Card (ValueCard) and E-payment products for GTBank joint marketing and led several other innovative initiatives. George-Taylor has served on several key committees and task forces including the Presidential Task Force on Financial Sector Reform Program Sierra Leone, Interswitch Implementation Committee, E-banking and Product Development Committee and the Executive Council – The West African Bankers Association, to name a few. 
After he resigned from the bank, George-Taylor set up FAFE International; a financial services outfit offering a wide range of advisory and consulting solutions with a strong focus on corporate, debt and project finance and wealth management, servicing clients primarily in the Oil & Gas, Power and Real Estate sectors. FAFE International has successfully secured and executed several high profile mandates.
On her own part, Tokunboh currently serves as Director of Oando Foundation at Oando PLC. She oversees the functions of Corporate Communications and Services Departments as well as coordinating the relationship management function between the Shared Service Centers and the various business entities at Oando. She has formerly served as General Manager of Corporate Services at Oando Plc, and as the Head of Corporate Communications of the company. Tokunbo started her career at Multichoice Nigeria Ltd. and served as Public Relations Manager. She worked as a Sales and Marketing Executive at Dialog Corporation (U.K) and Account Manager in Nelson Bostock Communications, where she managed the business-to-business communication team for the following clients, NTL, KPNQwest, Primus Telecommunications and Bosch. She has extensive Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing experience in the Telecoms, Information Technology and Oil Sector. Tokunbo holds B.Sc in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, U.S.A and a Diploma in Business System Analysis and Design from the City University of London.
