UDUAGHAN, CHIME DROP SENATORIAL AMBITIONS

Gov. Uduaghan

The Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has dropped his senatorial ambition.
Uduaghan stepped down for the incumbent, Senator James Manager, in the race for the Delta South Senatorial District seat in the National Assembly.
He said it was to allow peace to reign in the state.
Also, Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, on Friday dropped
Gov. Chime
his bid to go to the Senate in 2015.

Chime, whose tenure expires in 2015, had been locked in a contest with the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, over the seat of the Enugu West Senatorial District.
The governor had already been screened for the Peoples Democratic Party senatorial election primaries by the party’s screening committee.
The Chief Press Secretary to Chime, Chukwudi Achife, confirmed the development on Friday.
Achife said Chime was no longer running for Senate.
It was gathered that the development followed a peaceful agreement between Chime and Ekweremadu.
The contenders were said to have met with President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, for the resolution of the face-off.
