CRISIS ROCKS FANI-KAYODE'S OFFICE OVER ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT OF N150MILLION CAMPAIGN FUNDS

Femi Fani-Kayode

Reports coming from the office of Femi Fani-Kayode, Director, Media and Publicity of the Presidential Campaign Organisation of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, revealed that some staff at the office are angry with the former aviation minister over how he forcefully sat on the N150million, budgeted for online news campaign ads.
The controversial Osun state born politician, whose deliberate, systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions and direct behavior in favor of the PDP, and President Goodluck Jonathan, is yet to make any significant impact, is alleged to have distributed the said N150million in a scandalous manner that could tear his office down.
Fani-Kayode is alleged to have elicited the disappointment and angst of the aggrieved staff, with the manner in which he has

continued to mismanage funds put aside by the presidency for adverts.
“Fani-Kayode is going to be queried should the presidency hears about this” exclaimed our source who pleaded anonymity.
According to the source, trouble started when some money meant for online news advertisement was suddenly diverted for other “purposes”.
According to sources, one of the allegations being leveled against Fani-Kayode, is that he gave N50million to some of his close aides to establish a parallel online news website.
The idea behind the ‘fake’ online websites is to have a media name when retiring the N150million allocated for online news advertisement.
Fani- Kayode was also alleged to have asked individuals to come up with their advert proposals, an act which insiders claimed has turned his office to ‘a proposal dumping ground’.
“If you enter there you will see confusion “korokoro” as many people are just bringing in one proposal after another. Those working for Fani-Kayode complained that he is just dishing out money to whoever he likes; and not who can do the job,” our source lamented.
According to the source, “Fani-Kayode’s cynical attitude is consistent with what is going on in the Jonathan administrationMany of the so called loyalists don’t care if he wins or loses, they just want to grab whatever they call ‘their fair share of the National cake’, and leave Jonathan hanging,” declared our source.
