These are not the best of times for a very top official of Aso Rock, the official residence of the
Aside the fact that his political career is suffering setbacks in his home state, his immediate political constituency - his marriage to Hajiya is presently on the brink collapse.
Hajiya, unknown to event watchers in Nigeria politics- has been in bondage since her husband became governor of his state, an office he occupied before he was elevated to a higher position.
While in public glare, Hajiya is seen generally as Oga's legal wife, in her matrimonial home, though, she has continued to play second fiddle to US, one of her husband's senior advisers, who also, allegedly, plays the dual role of keeping Oga company, both in official and personal capacities.
Although the relationship between US (a.k.a Dee Cat) and the Aso Rock's Oga dates back to their college days in Zaria. After their graduation, US went into trading as he could no longer further his education.
According to a family source, US, allegedly, resurfaced in Oga's household and became a regular caller in the late 90s when a retired brigadier, and the then military administrator of Kaduna state was in office.
The retired Brigadier was said to have commissioned the KADA Payless Store, where US joined as a butcher who sold beef from door to door in Kaduna town.
During these periods the Aso Rock's Oga was rumoured to be US's closest and most valued ‘customer’.
When eventually, Oga attained the position of the CEO of the Government House of his home state, he also took with him, US, who until then, had remained in the background, carrying out all his "obligations", to the utmost pleasure of his "partner".
But shockingly, the Aso Rock's Oga appointed him as his director even when it was obvious that he doesn't have any pedigree or experience in the management of such sensitive office.
“If he was qualified for such office, the only qualification was a certificate in bed warming.” declared our source.
The Aso Villa Oga does not hide his love for US, as they both allegedly ride in the same car and stay together, any time the duo travels on official duty.
According to sources, who are privy to the happenings in the Villa, Hajiya, Oga's wife has complained and cried to her close associates about US's closeness to her husband. But all her efforts in severing the bond between her husband and his "partner", have turned out to be futile.
However, Hajiya's woos was further heightened when she, allegedly, caught her husband with her younger brother.
“She threatened to raise alarm and leave her matrimonial home but Oga warned her that if she leaves, he will destroy her,” our source said.
This probably explains Hajiya's continuous, forced hibernation with the Aso Villa Oga and the unhealthy rivalry between her and his "partner".
Our source further explained that US had to relocate to Abuja and got appointed as aN Assistant to the Aso Villa Oga, when he was selected by his Boss.
Quite unlike other wives of top officials who make strong visibility within the corridor of power, Hajiya feels relegated, even during official functions. She is hardly seen around, since US calls the shots on whatever pertains to her husband.
The situation in between the Aso Villa Oga and his official wife has assumed an uglier dimension, as Hajiya is, allegedly, threatening to quit her marriage, since she hardly has any access to her husband.
