Alake Dare is one of the most prominent members of the Nigerian social establishment. At 58, she is imbued with a look and a gait, which belie her age. She is blessed with a svelte frame and a lovely face to go with it. Invariably, she is faced with the challenge of keeping off the teeming male admirers who swarm around her like bees. Alake is the younger sister of Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, under whose care and tutelage, she grew up. Little wonder, she is one of the well-bred and well-groomed ladies in the society. The lawyer trained is regarded as one of the most prodigious and wealthiest businesswomen in Nigeria. Having practised law for some years, Alake went into commodity trading. Her domain was Oke-Arin, where she ran a most thriving business. Before long, Alake began to dominate the ever saturated Oke-Arin market Her enterprising spirit earned her the sobriquet, Queen of Oke-Arin from her friend. However, a couple of years back, Alake dumped commodity trading and went into real estate and property business. Presently, she plays big in that sector and she has made an impressionable mark as a property merchant.
Alake was formerly married to
a businessman but the union, which produced three children crashed over 15
years ago. Ever since then, she has discarded the idea of getting married
again. Her world revolves around her children and her business pursuit. Alake’s
first daughter Timi Ejiwunmi is married to Bode, the son of the late Hon. Justice
Akintola Ejiwunmi, former Justice of the Supreme Court. It is imperative to add
that Timi is the brain behind I Do Weddings, the wave-making wedding solution
company. Her outfit had designed the wedding outfits of Annie Macaulay and
several other celebrity brides as well.
