- How They Fell In Love While She Was Working For Him
-Why Maryam's First Marriage Crashed

Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema of Katsina State will today get married to Miss Maryam Yar’Adua, the eldest daughter of the late President Umaru Yar’Adua. The wedding prayers will be held at the new Usman Dan Fodio mosque in the afternoon. Maryam is the first daughter of the late Alhaji Umaru. Her younger sisters, Nafisa
New Husband, Gov. Shehu Shema
and Zainab, are married to Governors Isa Yuguda of Bauchi and Saidu Dakingari of Kebbi.
Quite interestingly, Maryam and Shema fell in love during the period she served as his Special Assistant in 2011.
Until a couple of years back, Maryam used to be married to Hon. Badamasi Kabir Usman, a former member of the House of Representatives. Ironically, Kabir was planning to return to the lower chamber of the National Assembly, when he fell into a Coma, and was subsequently hospitalised in London.
The lawmaker who is also the son of the late Emir of Katsina and younger brother of the present Katsina monarch was said to have fallen into coma in his hotel room overseas but nobody discovered his situation until after after several hours.

Kabir’s political career has been dogged by questions about his educational certificates. After the electoral commission declared him winner of the federal legislative seat, his opponents filed petition alleging that there were inconsistencies in his academic qualifications. Although, he claimed to have obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration, his opponents’ petitions accused him of submitting forged and fake primary school certificate and NCE statement of results to INEC.
The burden of nursing Kabir and warding of his catalogues of controversy was reported to have affected his marriage to Maryam Yar'adua. Not a few people were relieved when she finally opted out of the marriage.
