WHY LOLA ALAKIJA SHUNNED FORMER HUSBAND'S PARTY FOR LATE MOTHER

Recently, all friends and admirers of Chief Lai Ogunbambi, the Odofin of Lagos and former Federal Capital Permanent Secretary, gathered round him when his mother passed away recently in Lagos. Mama Ogunbambi had answered the call to the on Tuesday 8th July, 2014 and was buried on Wednesday, 9th July, 2014.
However, The ELITES gathered that Ogunbambi's former wife, Lola Alakija, the veteran television broadcaster, was conspicuously absent at the burial ceremony. Lola is the daughter of late Dr O. B. Alakija of Lagos, and is the younger

sister of oil billionaire and lawyer, Modupe Alakija, the husband of Folorunso Alakija (née Ogbara)
It would be recalled that Lola was also absent during the triple celebration of her former husband's 60th birthday, retirement and and chieftaincy conferment.
Lola, who has been divorced for over 25 years, is said to have avoid running into her former husband, especially at social functions. Rather, the ageless beauty, who is in her early 60's, enjoys socializing in the company of her best friends- Sienne All-Brown, Ruth Benemesia-Opia. However, the trio has been keeping low profile of late.
