...Each Delegate Allegedly 'Bribed' With N.5 Million
Ahead of the Lagos PDP governorship primaries on Monday, one of the aspirants, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has started reaching out to delegates with a mission to earn their votes during the primary election, which is fast becoming a two-horse race between him and Jimi Agbaje.
It was reliably gathered that the former Minister of State for Defence met with some delegates in the Kosofe area of Lagos after which he doled out monetary gifts to them.
Our source revealed that as much as N500,000 was dashed outto each of the delegates present. The monetary gift is to seal the pact between him and the delegates who promised him their votes in return.
One of the delegates who spoke on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that the gift from the controversial politician was an open secret. "Obanikoro is not hiding the fact that he wants to bribe delegates; after all, that is the tradition in Nigerian politics," the source claimed.
Koro, as he is fondly addressed by his followers, also distributed branded materials and rice to all the delegates two weeks ago.
